It's almost an impossible task to condense the history of WW2 into 190 fully-illustrated pages but this book makes a pretty good stab. Every topic has an equal two page spread and it flits rather randomly between the big picture and obscure details, so the Long Range Desert Group gets as much coverage as the Battle of Stalingrad, for example, but it nevertheless manages to cover all bases. Many of the photos will be familiar but just as many don't seem to have been published before and since modellers and militarists can never have enough reference books, it's certainly worth the price of the postage.
