The Tupolev Tu-95 (NATO code: Bear) was a Soviet long-range strategic all-metal bomber. The drive was provided by four Kuznetsov NK-12 turboprop engines with a capacity of 15,000KM each, moving counter-rotating propellers. The flight of the prototype took place in 1952, and serial production continued in the USSR from 1952 until 1994. The Tu-95 was an attempt by the Soviet Union to respond to the introduction of Boeing B-52 aircraft by US aviation. Many analysts indicate that probably the Soviet designers used stolen early B-52 plans to create the Tu-95 - confusingly similar to the Soviet bomber. The Tu-95 aircraft is adapted to carry AS-15A missiles with a nuclear warhead. It is worth noting that thanks to a very successful design, susceptible to modernization, the Tu-95 remains in line service to this day and carries approx. 20% of the ready-to-use nuclear warheads of the Russian Federation. Airplanes of this type operate from the following airports: Engels and Ukrainka. It was also the TU-95 MSM that fired on the positions of rebel forces in Syria in 2015 with Ch-555 cruise missiles. The unit cost of the Tu-95 (without weapons!) Is estimated at around 28-30 million. dollars
