Tin, them most useful of all metals, has been used since ancient times to make vessels of many sorts. England's Cornwall area was an early source and manufacturing center for tin; and in the ninetheeth century Cornish miners and English and Welsh metal workers emigrated to the United States where the tin industry flourished. The Art of The Tinsmith is a tribute to the men and women on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Here Shirley DeVoe has gathered a rich history of the manufacturing processes and methods of decoration.
