Junkers JU-87B Stuka BoB 80th Anniversary - 1/48 Scale - Italeri - IT2807
About the actual machine
The Ju87 Stuka was a dive bomber used by the German Air Force during World War II.
Developed by Junkers, it first flew in 1935 and was deployed in 1937.
Equipped with inverted gull-type wings, this two-seater fixed-wing aircraft's sturdy fuselage structure made it effective for dive-bombing attacks.
The engine is a Junkers Jumo 211 liquid-cooled V12.
Improvements continued throughout WWII, resulting in the creation of various types, but the Ju87B featured a 1,200 horsepower Ju211D engine, spats instead of wheel fairings, and a larger canopy.
