The Aero L-59 Super Albatros is a modern, Czech, two-seater training and training aircraft in the low wing configuration. The flight of the prototype took place in 1986, and serial production was carried out in the period 1986-1996. The drive is provided by a single DV-2 engine with a thrust of 21.57 kN. The length of the aircraft is 12.2 meters with a wingspan of 9.54 meters. The top speed is up to 865 km / h.
The L-59 Super Albatros aircraft was developed and produced by the Czech aviation company Aero Vodochody. The machine is in fact a far-reaching development of the previous successful Aero plant - the L-39 model. The L-59 aircraft, compared to its predecessor, has a modernized landing gear, elongated nose, definitely more advanced avionics and cockpit equipment, as well as a different engine with greater thrust. In the course of production, three main versions of the Super Albatros were created: the L-59 (version dedicated to the Czechoslovak and later Czech and Slovak air forces), L-59E (version for Egypt) and L-59T (version for Tunisia). It is worth adding that the L-159A light attack aircraft was developed on the basis of the L-59 aircraft.
