Despite this, C-2 differs from its ancestor mainly in the tasks that are entrusted to it. It is a specialized plane for the COD mission, i.e. transporting supplies on aircraft carriers. The Grumman C-2 Greyhound is a highly successful machine with low reliability, relatively low operating costs, the possibility of quick unloading and loading and easy to pilot - for a machine operating mainly over water reservoirs. The basic version of the aircraft is the C-2A, which was replaced in 1985-1990 by the C-2A (R) aircraft with richer avionics. Machines of this type took part indirectly during the Persian Gulf War (1990-1991). Currently, their only user is the US Navy.
